Transportational needs

ree

We are very grateful that we have been able to build the school (see next two blogs and posted videos/pictures), our children and children from the surrounding communities can now receive creche, nursery 1 and 2 and kindergarten 1 and 2. This means that children between 3 months old and 5 years old can attend the school for now. We hope to soon expand with another classroom to teach Primary 1 and 2 and so on. This makes life a lot easier and, in many cases, cheaper for the surrounding communities and for Macare itself. Parents can bring their children and pick them up after work much easier than when these children were to go to a school in a big community further away, and the children receive education that is up to the local standard, following the national curriculum for private schools. When we have more classrooms we can teach children in higher classes and bless the communities more. Eventually we hope, with our school, to provide a means of education for the children of the community up to senior high school (SHS) and of course this will allow us to send all our children to school, whatever their age, and we are so excited to see that in the future! It is evident that certain things are needed for that, however, such as new classrooms and more teachers (we have two female teachers at the moment and 13 children from the community.). Our most pressing quest currently is the transportation. A lot of the children need to walk for more than half an hour in the heat of Ghana to reach the school from their various communities. Parents, therefore, who are sending their children to school and those who want their children to join our school, have been asking firmly that they cannot always send their children on the back of a motorcycle. They have the understandable need for there to be a car that can pick up their children (for a small transportation fee) and bring them back home when the day ends, in safety and without having to brace the blazing heat of day or the darkness after the quickly setting sun has gone down. Therefore, we would feel fortunate to have a car. We found a car, which is currently out of our price range (see the video I posted in the menu of videos). The car is for sale for a 100.000 Ghana cedis, which is in euro’s 6076,10 currently.

Could you help us? Anything is welcome. For the Dutch people among us; we do not have an ANBI so your gift is not tax-deductible but your gift is much appreciated! If you download the app Remitly you can easily transfer money from a bank to a mobile number, they charge only 0,99 euro fee and therefore are the cheapest way to contribute to our orphanage and the community (in this case for the car). If you want to donate for another purpose than the car, please sent a message in the chat on the website and note your amount in cedis and your purpose for the money, then we will know to use that money for the purpose stated rather than for the car. Thank you in advance!

You are invited to share the link to the blog with anyone you think may be able to help.
